From family tailor shop to international commerce

We helped the client team launch on a major commerce marketplace while keeping their existing shop and ERP stack - API-first integration, headless commerce, and a Vue.js app for marketing copy.

From family tailor shop to international commerce

Our client started as a small tailor shop for made-to-measure trousers and grew into a global brand for women’s trousers with strong roots and values. We supported them in bringing their products to a major commerce marketplace as an additional sales channel - without replacing the infrastructure they already relied on.

The client runs its own shop system. Web shop, ERP, and everything behind it had to stay in place. We integrated their product range into the marketplace shop in a short timeframe and built a portal so product data could be enriched with SEO and marketing text - as a Vue.js web app.

The core of the integration layer: prepare data from the existing ERP so it meets the target platform’s requirements.

Central PIM and integration layer

To shorten time-to-market and grow digital channels efficiently, we built a central product information system (PIM). It connects the existing online shop (including the full commerce stack behind it) to the PIM and feeds article data, variants, and images. Data is maintained in one place. Marketing additions go through the Vue.js app we built. A unified PIM and standardised connectors reduce operating cost; adding further shops or channels is mostly a matter of release and permissions.

Delivered by the Turing 42 team:

  • Data platform on the chosen commerce API (commercetools)
  • Integration with the existing ERP
  • B2C product catalogue
  • B2B portal connected to the commerce platform
  • Web app to add SEO and marketing text to product data

The commerce platform is a scalable cloud service with a flexible commerce API at its core, supporting microservices and headless architectures so all sales channels can be managed from one product backbone.

  • commercetools (cloud-native, headless commerce)
  • API-first / API by design for third-party integration
  • Microservice architecture
  • Vue.js web app for marketing and SEO enrichment
